This study aims to describe the implementation of the Islamic religious education teacher working group (KKG) in improving the professional competence of elementary school teachers in Ciemas District, Sukabumi Regency. The research data were obtained by interviewing, observing and studying the documentation with the technique of checking the validity of the data using triangulation. From the results of the study, it was found that there were very few PAI teachers at SD Ciemas District, Sukabumi Regency who were touched in the process of increasing professional competence, this was due to the large number of teachers who were appointed not according to their educational qualifications. The research results show that the role of the teacher working group and its implementation in increasing the professional competence of Islamic Education teachers at SD Ciemas District, Sukabumi Regency can be seen in the intensity of activities carried out, such as activities in order to increase learning effectiveness, increase creativity and skills as well as activities that increase teacher knowledge and insight Islamic education.
